You don't have much You always want more Ready to do anything To no longer be poor The more things you have The more things you need To attain them you find You will do any deed From rags to riches From riches to hell To get your desires Your soul you sell These riches in life Are so pleasant and sweet But they will not last When you’re under six feet Those things you collect To fill up your rooms They don’t go with When surrounded by blooms Because of your sin You are God’s debtor Because you owe Him His way is better There’s only one way That’s when God’s way was made God's very own Son On the alter was laid This life offers you Pleasures of many a kind Yet, true lasting joy Is indeed hard to find But to find true joy That is never to leave Look to God's Word And in His Son believe By Greg Williamson | |
