This week we read the story of how Mary was told of how she would be the mother of Jesus and of His humble beginnings. The story of Christ’s birth is the most amazing story that has ever been told. In the gospel of Luke Chapter 2, it tells of the birth of the Son of God in a lowly stable with farm animals. Can you imagine the king of all creation being born in a barn! Yet that is how God decided that it would happen and Jesus would come to know and feel all that you and I feel with one exception. He did not sin. That is how He could be the perfect savior, paying the price for the sins of the world. You see Jesus had to come to earth as a baby to be both God and man. If we could save ourselves through the good things that we do, there would have been no need for Jesus to come to earth as a man, suffer and die. At Christmas, we celebrate the fulfillment of the promise that God made to Adam & Eve at the beginning. Jesus would defeat Satan and save all of those that will trust Him as the one to take the punishment that we deserve. If you have not made that commitment to do it Jesus’ way (verse your own way) now is the time! God’s way is the best way for you and your children.
We are planning a Christmas caroling and party night on December 23th at 7PM. This will be a fun time of bring joy to people in our area with songs of the season. It is also a great time to join in on the fun. There will not be a meal that night (there will be cookies and drinks after caroling) and the buses will not be running. This is a time when we ask family and friend to be a special part of the Awana night. Please dress warmly and anticipate lots of fun!
Remember you are always welcome to have dinner with us and share in the fun. Please visit our web site at fbclittletonil.org to learn more about the First Baptist Church of Littleton, Awanas and other activities we provide.
